I thought Kawa might be a bit to wiley for young Mimi, but glad to be proven wrong. Now will the rain stop play tomorrow or should I nip down to see Mimi play in the QFs?
I was going to go and spectate today (as I've done nearly every year since 2009) but decided to save the day's leave for next January when I'm planning to go to Australia (which will include watching a day or two of the Open ). Would have been nice to have watched that great win by Mimi but I'm sure there will be many more chances!
Heather has an interesting match against Ponchet - the French girl was RU at Ilkley last season. If I recall, she was overpowered by Marino in that final but had a decent game for grass with quite flat strokes.

Ponchet may have been runner-up at Ilkley but has never qualified for Wimbledon. An opportunity missed for Heather.
Well done Mimi I watched the second set and thought it wasnt going to go her way. Does anybody know if she will play tomorrow or Friday? I hope jodie can turn this around.

Have to say as a Jodie fan I think she will be massively disappointed with that performance. To be fair i only saw the first set that was abysmal and the last 4 games. Her opponent played well but in the first set just had to get the ball in the court.
So Mimi is the last Brit standing in the singles, men and ladies. I so nearly put her for most grass court wins but I wasnt sure if she was fit or not!
