Thas an incredible win for Mimi. Parks is decent.

I don't think Parks likes grass

She looked as though she hated it when she played Hannah last year in Wimbly qualis too

I think she feels it makes her look a bit of a fool because she's always half-falling over, or in the wrong place to the ball

But, yes, when she's in position, she plays super tennis

Just too all over the place and not really inclined to buckle down if it's not firing

Maybe but she has won a 125 event on grass (but then again, so did Katie on clay! ha). She also qualified for Wimbledon in 2024 and won a main draw round in 2023.... and qualified for the Berlin 500 in 2022, making it to the second round. So maybe not comfortable, but has some pedigree on the surface.

You may well be right - maybe it's just she looks so grumpy, no matter what surface she's playing on biggrinno

Great to see those two good wins for Heather and Mimi. Hopefully they can keep the wins coming.

Not sure whats happened with Marni. I would have thought she would be. Solid 150-200 player by now.

Hopefully its a blip and she gan gather her form back.

Great result from Mimi and well done Heather.
Im thinking of going to edgbaston on Thursday so I hope to watch Mimi if she is still in the draw.
As for Marni I was in Nottingham for the W35 last month and I seen Marni play the quarter final, semi final and final.
Even though she won that week it was clear to me that she has lost all of the firepower she once had and its a shame to see.
I first thought it might be slower courts at Nottingham but today confirmed my conclusion from Nottingham.
She looked ecstatic when she beat Gillan but she really had to dig deep to win and really should have lost to Rajecki in what was a very weak W35.
I went away unimpressed and its no surprise to see her struggle with this type of player who has no weapons.
Is there any parking at the priory club?

Mimis current coaching set up. Nigel Sears and Katie OBrien are leading my programme at the moment. Ive known Katie since I was young, she was with me during Winter and Summer Cup so its nice to have someone who Ive known for so long on my team.

I read that four times before I figured out that it was a quote from Ms Xu.

There's no spectator parking at the Priory Club. Nearest I saw is in Sir Harry 's Road, section between A441 and A38(Bristol and Pershore road)  but only if you're early, or on service road where shops are. Watch out as some of it is a 1 way street.

It was nice to hear Mimi's win here get a mention from Annabel croft on the BBC radio coverage of the men's RG matches yesterday....and hear them then talk about the other promising young girls and how intense the u18s nationals final between Mika and Hannah was and their contrasting styles....comparing Mikas style to Rybakina.

The forum deletes all inverted commas when you post from your phone. Its incredibly annoying! (My its in that sentence - case in point!)

I contacted the club this morning just to make sure and you are correct there is no on site parking unless you have reserved. I asked if I could reserve and they said the car park is fully booked.
on the website it says there is a car park around a mile away so if I cant ditch the vehicle on one of the roads above you have mentioned then Ill just have to pay for a public car park.

thanks for the info Miriam
