This isn't so soft:

L64:  (LL) Cameron Norrie WR 91 vs (10) Daniil Medvedev (***) WR 11 (CH = 1 in February 2022)

L64:  (5) Jack Draper WR 5 vs Luciano Darderi (ITA) WR 46 (CH = 32 last August)

The two have met once before, an encounter in the last 16 in Vienna which Jack won in straight sets (5 & 1) & after that the title, but that was on indoor hard.

L96:  Jacob Fearnley WR 57 defeated (WC) Fabio Fognini (ITA) WR 107 by 2 & 3  smile

*****

L64:  (29) Matteo Berrettini (ITA) WR 30 (CH = 6 in January 2022) vs Jacob Fearnley WR 57

That was a fairly comprehensive dismantling of someone that used to be a very good clay court tennis player.

Well done, Jake!

Not doing badly considering Sheddie mentioned he was still working out how to move on clay and set himself up for shots properly in his qualifying matches in Barcelona less than a month ago!

That was Foggies retirement match. Well done Jake for performing so professionally. Well done Fognini for an entertaining career, sometimes outrageous and insulting, but often skilful and enjoyable to watch

Berrettini retired against Jack the other day, so he's recovered quickly from whatever that was ..

Think just last match in Rome. He hasn't confirmed yet when his final event will be.

ah, ok - the article was not entirely clear, so I went with last match ( on basis ROme would be a good place to finish!)
