Weeks 22 & 23 - French Open (Roland-Garros) - Paris, France (clay) - men's main draw

Have been out all day and am absolutely thrilled and delighted to see Cam won! Well done!

And well done, Jack, as well, of course. But that was a bit more expected.

L64:  Cameron Norrie WR 81 vs (LL) Federico Agustín Gómez (ARG) WR 144 (CH = 133 in February)

Dare I say that he could hardly have hoped for a better second round draw?!!

L128:  (5) Jack Draper WR 5 defeated Mattia Bellucci (ITA) WR 68 by 3-6 6-1 6-4 6-2  smile

L64:  Gaël Monfils (FRA) WR 42 (CH = 6 in November 2016) vs (5) Jack Draper WR 5

It took 38-year-old "la Monf" five sets & three hours & 36 minutes to subdue Hugo Dellien (Jack was on court for two hours & 35 minutes).

Wow, I was listening to the tennis programme on Radio 5 Live where the Monfils match was playing in the background and being occasionally commented upon.

Monfils injured himself in the very first game hurling into a courtside barrier, was injured and went 2 sets down.

Ryan Harrison was consistent that Monfils would come back and that Emma would beat Iga. Good luck with that double, mate!

I see Ruud went down in round one to Borges, 4 sets. Ruud came in having won a Masters!!

that explains it - the scoreline looked like something was up with him

Shame, I really like Ruud - seems like a really nice guy.

Monfils (and the Parisian crowd) are going to be a good test for where Draper is at mentally! Could be a big banana skin.

AdM was leading 2 sets to love against Bublik, but Bublik has pulled it back and now leads 2-0 in the 5th.

I haven't checked, but wasn't/ isn't AdM looming in Jack's section? (one of the Brits will come across him soon, I think?)

4th round - a little way to go yet.

Would potentially be good to have AdM out of the way ( though I would take Jack to beat him ).

Fonseca ( who beat (30) Hurkacz in R1 ) or Herbert for Jack in R3 if he beats Monfils in R2, as he ruddy well should.

In the meantime, the only remaining seed that Jack could meet in the first 4 rounds, (19) Mensik, has also lost a 2 set lead and is a break down, 3-4*, to qualifier Rocha in the 5th set.
