British number one Jack Draper speaking after beating Frenchman Gael Monfils: "Bonsoir. First off, I have to acknowledge Gael. It is my first time on this court. What a battle against someone I admire. He is a joker, he is a magician, he does everything. Huge respect to him. I hope he is able to play here one more time again in the future."
Toughest match he has played? "There are some tough ones. I'm starting to play more in these Grand Slams. Playing Gael in front of you guys as well, no offence taken. This is why I play tennis, to play in front of big crowds and to play in matches like this whether the crowd are with me or against me, so thank you."
On dealing with the match mentally: "My brain was fried out here. I'm not sure if I am going to go to sleep tonight because my brain is just all over the place with what he was doing out here. That's why he has had such a successful career and is loved by all the fans. The players love to watch him play as well, but not to play against him.
"There were times where I was very frustrated but I reminded myself that this is why I put in the hard work to play on courts like this in front of you guys. It is something I enjoyed while I was playing even though it didn't look like it."
Jack third on Simone Matthieu and Cam v Jake follows that.
Quite surprised that Jack isnt on a bigger court given his opponent has a lot of interest. But I see they have Zverev and Djoko on Chatrier, and Sinner and Fils on Lenglen, so gone for the big names and the local boy.

Jack's match duly moved !! Suzanne Lenglen , third on.
Jack looking dominant in the first set against Fonseca, but then he looked that way in the first set against Monfils which went on to be the match of the year so far.
Very convincing from Draper, another match with a strong first set. Let's see if this time rather than last, he can put the other guy to the sword and keep his level high.
Tempting fate but - when was the last time two British men made the last 16 of French open singles In the same year?
Rusedki and henman never made it in the same year.
Ditto I cant see that Roger Taylor and John Lloyd and buster Mottram and mark cox ever did it two in the same season. We might have to back to Pre war - in 1937, Bunny Austin, Charles Hare and Patrick Hughes all made the last 8. Maybe that is the last time?
Given we have cam playing Jake, Jack winning this would of course give us two.
