It's NOT a glum face.  It represents "hmm", but it still means that Luke or Joe & Neal has/have to lose, so yeah, cry.

Isn't it a quizzical face - as in I don't know who I want to win?

"Smiley faces" are a personal thing and they are an expression of the author's feelings, not the reader's - surely that makes it up to the author which feeling that they choose?

Yep, personal and to my mind (ie. hmm) seems absolutely fair enough if you are wondering who you more want to win.

I think sometimes folk may mistake a (hmm) for a (cry) so get a bit confused. hmm is not being glum which is what Jon initially talked about before apparently moving on to querying why folk would feel anything other than joy.

Ok, ok! The purple face looks glum and sad to me! Sorry! But given my interpretation of it, as glum, surely its fair and reasonable to ask why the glum face? It feels like a final to be proud of.

so sorry if Ive misinterpreted, it still looks glum rather than hmm to me!

Sorrt SC!

I agree! But it is also valid to say why are feeling like that?!

Regardless of emojis !

Its a big match for all 3 Brits - Luke has never won a 500 title before; Neal and Joe havent won one at that level in a long time each!
