Who has been coaching Sonay over the last year or so while she has risen so impressively?

She has had the same coach since she was about 7

Last year at Wimbledon Julie Hobbs (nee Pullin), who was once a pro who came close to cracking the top 100, was also involved, like Sonay she's a native of Brighton. Don't know if she's still involved.

Disappointing loss tonight but perhaps still a bit hung over from the BJK Cup? Don't forget all this is still pretty new to her.

I've seen the video of Harriet, and to be honest, I'm not sure I can support her anymore. It's truly embarrassing behaviour.

Yes, I agree

I can deal with people smashing rackets etc

But this is just nasty and, as you say, truly embarrassing

And I don't really care that she's apologised - of course she's apologised - but that's not the point

In reply to the post about rankings, Harriet and Roland Garros, I have also been looking for info.

Nothing I can see on the internet or the Roland Garros website in terms of entry lists published yet, but I think Indiana is right about the cut off date. I started looking for the entry list last week, as I know from experience that it is about 6 weeks before the tournament that it is released.

The Roland Garros website does though have pictures of players with current rankings, but intriguingly or maybe even worryingly, there is no picture of Sonay or Emma. Nearly all the other top 100 players are listed, with correct current rankings. I think this set of pictures went up on the website today or yesterday. Watch this space... I guess.

This may have the info you want. Harriet is down as 11th Alt.

Surely merits an LTA sanction even if not a WTA one.

Really unpleasant and, frankly, a bit unhinged.

I agree. Really totally unacceptable and a form of bullying really. Totally disrespectful to her opponent. Her on court attitude is the thing that stinks. her tennis really did stink the venue out. Absolutely terrible. Completely outplayed from start to finish.

Not a good day for the GB women.

Shocking. Worst thing is its probably her management that told her to post it, as it took so long to do.

Brilliant - all there and much appreciated by me. Lily is right on the cut off for a qualifying place, given that there will be 8  French qualifying wildcards. I think Harriet will miss out on the main draw, as she is 11th alternate, but after today's stink, some people may think she deserves it.

Agreed. And it isn't the first time she has behaved so poorly. This is school playground bullying type comments, and I don't support that.

She needs to apologise.

And quite childish. Which strikes me as being, petulant, boorish.

Said it before and say it again, she is childish and immature ( at 28yo! )

Needs to get out more!!

Didn't she burst into tears underneath her towel at Charleston near the end? Sky cut it out of the replay AFAIK.
