Another sign that Fran is such a class act, a really clever, insightful woman, with an excellent value set (probably partly thanks to her parents who sound wonderful people, making her eat dinner at home and at restaurants from the age of 8 or 9, properly, with no distractions, expected to make conversation )
Well done on the title, and for being a really decent person, a far more important accolade:
Won a tournament this week but there is so much more to it than that I try not to talk too much (let me finish) about the obvious when it comes to my career and I; actions speak louder than words. That said, thank you tennis - Vacaria was another eye-opener; travelling to a small town that pushes a 75 challenger event forward (for women!) with passion, care and consideration. A humbled, open-armed town has somehow had the foresight to build the biggest relative social project in Brazil, allowing more than 360 underprivileged kids to access the sport locally in different locations, irrespective of their disabilities or social status. Underprivileged because yet somehow a handful of them sat and asked questions with respect, curiosity and intelligence that not even some of our better educated children would be capable of doing from our privileged European schools. Like any human will experience, challenges can often cause you to juggle with how to identify with your workplace, so obrigada Vacaria for all the kind words, and for reminding me for a moment or two why I started the sport.
Side note: we concluded my name is Queen cow as Vacaria means land of the cows in Portuguese - a title Im sure more than enough of you would agree with x
Parabens Lourdes tal como ves en la tercera foto, lo único que hacemos es escucharte
