Emma has played Coco Gauff once before, at the Australian Open in 2023 where she lost 3-6 6-7(4). That was only a few months before Emma stepped down to have operations on her wrists and ankle.

Emma does also love playing in IW. Along with Stuttgart, it's probably one of her most successful stops on the tour so far. Perhaps a good time to play Coco as well - losing to Badosa at the Aussie Open seems to have knocked the stuffing out of her a little, and she lost her 2 matches during the Middle Eastern swing.

Katie could do with a good run here. The points from winning the San Diego WTA500 tournament last year have just dropped off resulting in a fall from 26 to 38 in the rankings table.

Thought Clervie probably deserved it. Was the one trying to make more happen and putting Sonay under far more pressure.
