Yay! I looked in for just the last 2 points from 6-5* deuce and only saw 2 shots from Billy - 2 super returns.
Reaching the SF has him live ranked 107 on 558 points. Reaching the final would currently have him live ranked 101 or 102 on 587 points - 1 point short of the current live ranked 100 on 588 points*
So clearly it's win the title for top 100. Might as well make the top 100 and win your first challenger title at the same time!
* edit - live ranked 100 has been updated to 605 points so reaching the final would leave Billy 18 points short of that rather than the previous potentially very annoying looking 1 point short.

It would be very like Billy and his unconventional path to the top to finally make the top 100 and win his first challenger in a tournament which he only entered at the last minute and therefore had to start in qualifying, and where he didn't actually win his FQR match, but did end up as a LL....
Great win and another solid run against a backdrop of bereft and/or incandescent onlookers when he entered the tournament originally.
Ha, let's have this right. With Billy having played the previous 3 weeks in India and indeed having had decent runs ( 12 matches in the 3 weeks ), after Davis Cup in Japan the end of the week before those, one or two of us simply suggested that we would have preferred to see him pass on this tournament and fly to the US in advance of Indian Wells qualies. And as we stand he is 'just' through to the SF, live ranked 107, and getting shorter of time before IW.
But as I said in my own non incandescent spiel: "Now he'll just probably go and win his first Challenger title and soar into the top 100!" I so very much hope that is the case and Billy's preference ( and luck as a LL ) proves to have been great. And then who cares about IW!
