And in a bit of turn-up for the books:

QR1:  (ALT/q1) Billy Harris WR 110 (CH = 101 last September) vs Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND) WR 747 (CH = 585 last August)

What's the betting that Billy qualifies & draws Jay in the L32?

Hmm, having pulled out of the Mexico Challenger I would have preferred Billy to take the week and a bit off to travel, recuperate and then prepare for Indian Wells qualifying. As discussed in the Pune thread he already seemed to have an encouraging looking window over the coming 3 months for a real chance of getting into that top 100. Billy certainly likes to play and he no doubt really wants top 100 soon. But I really doubt this.

With the main draw already having taken place, he can't be seeded in that and apart from Jay, the top and 6th seed are among other possible R1 opponents.

Now, he'll just probably go and win his first Challenger title and soar into the top 100 !

FWIW he will at least need to make the final here to be top 100 on Monday week. The title would ensure it.

Most of the same cast as the past 3 weeks here - Jacquet, Holt, Kiprova, Schoolkate. At least he knows what he is playing against

Watched a little bit this morning and I don't think he should have played here. Pretty lethargic, legs looked heavy - one tournament in a row too far

Well at least he gets on his way to Indian Wells still reasonably early ( I assume he still is in qualies ). Have a wee rest then prepare.

I wonder if Billy got confused and thought Indian Wells was just down the road from the other Indian venues he has been playing
