Good set of results in the doubles here today. Rematch from last week for Harri and Henry and Joe and Neal - Harri in his blog said Dubai was playing quicker than Doha, but the balls are heavier. No idea how that changes things but I think Harri and Henry will get revenge this week.
IF Henry and Harri managed to take the title here - big if, I know- then Henry would be just 65 points off top spot in the world rankings. It doesnt look like he has any points due to fall throughW and Miami, whereas Arevalo and Pavic lose 90 over the next 5 weeks.
Henry is in a genuine tussle for top spot from here through IW and Miami
Come on Henry and Harri - going to support them today against Joe and Neal, although glad to see Joe and Neal getting some form of- a good week for them could see them into the Race top 8.

Everyone got a lot to play for!
Henry and Harri will actually have more points to come off over the IW and Miami 4 weeks than Arevalo and Pavic assuming they all play IW and Miami. That is because Henry played neither of these last year and Harri just played Miami, so they will have to drop bottom existing counters in to let in the mandatory IW and Miami scores.
So, Arevalo and Pavic will each be due to drop 90 + 90 = 180. Henry will be due to drop 150 + 175 = 325. Harri will be due to drop 175 + 0 = 175.
Incidentally after Miami, Henry and Harri will be on the same total ranking score, having teamed up after Miami last year. Harri might rank ahead since Henry played 2 additional non scoring tournaments with other partners. I'm not sure though and it only becomes really interesting if and when they reach WR 1/2. Henry will still be ahead of Harri's points after IW.
And it could still be looking very good for both on that front if they have good IW and / or Miami, especially if they go on to win the title here.

ah - I didnt delve into the detail, but presumably Live tennis have it wrong - this may not format well below but they are forecasting 5 weeks out as per below - So showing Henry dropping nothing and Harri actually gaining, whilst Arevalo and Pavic lose those 90...have they got it wrong?

or is week 5 in the table actually just before the points fall?

Future ranking projections will not take these bottom counters off just now since they only have to drop off if and when doubles players actually play these mandatory score events.
PS Henry needs to play a couple of events with someone else then! Evo, or Cam, what are up to at the start of the clay season?
As I edited in, Henry will still be ahead of Harri on points after IW. So if he can get ahead of Arevalo and Pavic too he could be WR 1 on his own some post IW. It's after Miami that they will have the same points total.

ok, cool - makes sense. Glad you are into the detail and also still looks v positive for Henry!
