Yes Harry - I think you have hit the nail on the head, although I didn't see any of this match - although I have watched streams of all the players recently.

As far as I can tell Eden and Madeleine have never played together and this tournament is a bit of a step up for both, although Eden has played at this level with Sam Murray. Madeline has only played three I think. Blinkova and Yuan are also a new pairing, but both are more experienced by far, even if their rankings aren't much higher.

Incidentally, I did watch a fair bit of Heather and Maia's opening match - and was rather disappointed in the standard there - probably because I have been watching Liv and Tereza whenever possible.

Just to follow up on the doubles. THe title was won by Blinkova and Yuan who beat Kessler and Zhang. Both pairs beat Brits in the QF's.
