OK, let's write off this week for our top women. But of course you can't peak every week. Unless you're Jannik Sinner.

Well singles anyway - nine of our top 12 doubles players are still in action, although only three have played so far (at least they won !)

Seemed to be an argument over the last point, at which point Bet365 streaming stopped

Not surprising, but they matched the #2 seeds for a long time

Not hanging about today - Harriet and Maia get a first set bagel

Krawczyk and Olmos waiting in the SF

I watched on bet365 great performance

I was surprised Maia served first for the Brits in both sets - sorry if this is a silly question, but isn't it preferable to start with the stronger server (and I'm pretty sure that's Harriet)?

Really?  I've not seen Maia serve lately but that would be concerning.

My impression was that Harriet's first serve is stronger, but Maia is more accurate. But of course it fluctuates during a match (and I only saw parts of the second set). I think Harriet serves much better in doubles than in singles anyway.

I'm sure someone here could find some statistics on their serves.

Yes tbf Anna and TA, I was kind of forgetting that Harriet's first serve can actually be quite decent, even though her second in singles is a big liability.

Harriet and Maia have given a walkover to the #2 seeds in their SF

The official draw sheet says left hip injury for Harriet

Yes, Harriet says on her Instagram stories she will be out for "a little bit".

So we are barely in Feb and already Emma and Harriet have been/are injured.
