What is going on with Liam? He should be able to beat these players without breaking sweat.

I think that's something we'd all like to know.  It's hard seeing him in apparent freefall.   no

Well, the difficulties of getting back to his previous levels after missing most of last year cannot be underestimated, he needs to win a couple of scrappy matches and start building up a run of competitive matches which is easier said than done and he keeps losing these tight matches.  I also wonder about the psychological aspect, he slogged around the Challenger circuit for years chasing a top 100 spot and just as he got there he suffered the most significant injury of his career and has plunged back down the rankings, having just turned 30 he may well be struggling with finding the appetite to climb the mountain again.  I would imagine he would have options if he chose to stop playing, certainly he has the charisma to follow Naomi into the media, and he might well be pondering the best path forward and not fully focused on grinding out results.
