Interesting that 5 of the 6 UK players to reach the FQR are US uni graduates. Such players seem to get insufficient LTA recognition in terms of wildcards and general support.

Esther beat Vic, in a MTB, so that's a WTA ranking point for her, and into the main draw

Same for Emma Wilson who beat Holly H, also in a MTB

So young Nikola Barkuntova shows up again .... after all the controversy with her drugs test

I enjoyed watching her in March at Roehampton but there are a few questions.....

And she gets the top seed smile

And several of our players have very nice R1 draws (maybe not after that, but excellent R1 chances for points)
