So, firstly well done to Fabrice on winning the doubles event here, and hard luck to Anna who was runner up.
But both of them make their respective singles finals, Anna plays rival Eva Blanc and Fabrice plays Aussie Archie Graham.
Good luck to both in their finals- Anna looks in better singles form that Eva but maybe the early round scores are misleading?
Thanks
Eva played poorly up until that doubles match, then suddenly played. Her coach was furious with her after her earlier matches. So I expect that was not fun. Hanne and Eva effectively targeted Anna's partner with high balls and down the court balls. Eva and Hanne had a few days doubles training before this event as well. Kelly and Anna actually had 8 break points and only took 1.
So Fab from GB takes the doubles trophy alongside Archie. Aidan and Olly took the 2nd place men's trophy. Anna and Kelly took the 2nd place women's trophy.
The finals are tomorrow afternoon Melbourne time. So time for Anna to rest. She has been worn out by a very busy schedule. Who knows which Eva and Anna turns up tomorrow. Anna has much the better form in singles so far. However it could be really close, or very one sided either way.
Its the Virtus World Championship starting this weekend in Kazakhstan. Not sure if Annas dad is around - is Anna also playing and any information on draws etc?

Good luck team GB!
A good, extensive article in the Mail.
Anna flies to Heathrow early tomorrow to join the rest of the team. They all then fly to Kazakhstan at 6:45 pm tomorrow.
So far, there is little info about the event. We only know the basics and that it will be played on an indoor hard court. I have attached an image of the provisional schedule, and the information sent to us can be found in this PDF. 071024-Virtus-World-Championships-Astana-2025-info.pdf They will play from next Monday onwards, with the major matches taking place starting Thursday. I will find out more after they arrive. I will not be attending, so I will rely on draws and results being sent to me. It will be a very different experience to play in Kazakhstan and it should be a good experience for the whole team.
As usual, the LTA organises things at the last minute and then tries to save money by choosing ridiculous travel options. So they flew from Heathrow on Friday evening, but the flight left late. Bad weather in Poland meant they had to circle for a while. However, the flight option picked had only allowed a 1:20 gap for catching the connecting flight from Warsaw. So, of course, they missed that and had to spend 24 hours in Poland. They finally arrived exhausted this morning and went to bed for a few hours at about 7 am local time. The matches start tomorrow morning, so the GB team have been compromised. All the other teams have been laughing at GB's misfortunes/incompetence and are probably eying up opportunities to take advantage of GB's weakened state.
I have not seen a draw. I hear it is box groups as usual. I am sure Anna will take a picture of the draw tomorrow. The box groups are usually three short sets, with sets to six once out of the box groups. Due to the remote location, fewer players are competing. I am unsure about the men, but I belive only nine women are there. Five in one group and four in Anna's. However, I can see that all the main players are all there in both the men's and women's groups. So the standard will not be affected.
