Ok, lets go with that. Sheddie, if youd rename the section British Tennis Player of the Month etc.

Theres no point going back and renaming the old threads but Ill change the title of the PoM etc threads going forwards to reflect.

Ah good, I actually meant to say British Tennis Forum PoM etc as you did earlier rather than just British Tennis PoM etc. And that's what it appears to have been changed to, so all good.

now Andy is no longer coaching you know who, perhaps he will be free to present the awards. I feel like an awards dinner is needed for next January. Need to make sure the winner turns up though!

So here is the updated calendar for 2025 (subject to change at the whim of the organising committee i.e. me!!)

Jun PoM - Vote will take place Monday 30th June (after end of week 26 and Wimbledon qualies and as Wimbledon starts) - 5 week period

HALFWAY POINT IN THE TENNIS YEAR

Jul PoM - Vote will take place Monday 28th July (after end of week 30 i.e end of Washington 500 events) - 4 week period

Aug PoM - Vote will take place Monday 25th August (after end of week 34 and US Open qualies) - 4 week period

Sep PoM - Vote will take place Monday 29th Sept (after end of week 39 i.e mid way through the WTA China Open, as per this year - not ideal but otherwise we hit a 6 week period in Sep or October) - 5 weeks

Oct PoM - Vote will take place Monday 3rd November (after end of week 44 i.e end of Paris 1000 event) - 5 weeks

Worthy of note is that Lloyd G and Julian C have the most nominations for PoM votes this season, with 4 nominations from the 6 months.

This months PoM vote of 42 was a welcome return to the 40s and the highest of the season, and since last October in fact. We reached highs well in the 50s (58) but this season has fallen away a bit, so good to return to higher numbers again.

We have had 58 prior PoM votes over the past few years, since start of 2020, with some months missed due to covid and one or two months combined (Dec/Jan a couple of times).

In actual fact, 8 past votes have exceeded 42 votes, so 42 is in fact a pretty decent vote and a return to form. I think the little bit of extra time (started it on a Sunday evening as opposed to Monday morning) helped with a few votes extra. But I will go back to the monday morning process in future as this is easier for getting nominations in nice and cleanly and keeps the whole thing tighter.

But was interesting to look at.

42 also beat last June vote, which was 41 and is this biggest June vote we have had, in fact, over the years.
