While of course it is sad news, that's an impressively stretched link to PoM / PoS

So here is the updated calendar for 2025 (subject to change at the whim of the organising committee i.e. me!!)

Sep PoM - Vote will take place Monday 29th Sept (after end of week 39 - Period includes US Open, BJK Cup Finals and British Davis Cup v Poland. However, the China Open complicates things on the WTA side by running 24th September to 5th October - the women's China Open will therefore be included in October PoM period. The mens ends on October 1st and Japan Open 30th September, so if Brits are going well in those events, I may just extend the period slightly by a day or two - 5 weeks (plus a day or tw,o potentially)

Oct PoM - Vote will take place Monday 3rd November (after end of week 44 i.e end of Paris 1000 event) - 5 weeks

Nov PoM - Vote will take place Monday 1st December (after end of week 48, both Tour finals will be in this period, in which we may have players on the men's side and , outside chance, the women's as well) - 4 weeks

Dec PoM - Vote will take place Monday 29th December (after end of week 52, when there are a couple of ITF events in Antalya which some of our players have historically turned out for) - 4 weeks

PoS Wildcard Nominations - window for nominations between Friday 26th December and Tuesday 30th December 2025. Note this year, there will be unlimited wildcard nominations and the vote will be organised to support that process)

PoS Wildcard vote - Thursday 1st - Friday 2nd Jan 2026

PoS Round One Vote - Saturday 3rd - Monday 5th Jan 2026

PoS Semi Final Vote - Tuesday 6th - Thursday 8th Jan 2026

PoS Final - Friday 9th to Sunday 11th Jan 2026 2026

And that will take us neatly into the start of the Australian Open 2026 (which starts on the 12th January!)

Looking more closely at the timings. Ive decided to run the September period to Sept 29th or extend it until Brits are out of Beijing and Tokyo, men and women. Its messy otherwise and reality is, the womens finals date for Beijing on 5th October wont bother us too much!

Ill ring fence those two events as definitively September - Beijing woman is 6 days in Sept and 5 days in October anyway.

The October nominations process is also 5 weeks. Ill post a thread for it once September nominations is over ie once Chinese Open has completed for Liv and Sonay.

The October nominations should include all week 40 performances, ie every other event taking place this week outside of China Open, Ill be sure to remind folks when it gets to any possible nominations being made!

As of end September, 3/4 of the way through the year, 9 months into the season, the players with most PoM nominations is as follows:

Name Total
Fran Jones 6
Julian Cash 6
Lloyd Glasspool 6
Sonay Kartal 5
Alfie Hewett 4
Cam Norrie 4
Alicia Dudeney 3
Jack Draper 3
Jack Pinnington-Jones 3
Jacob Fearnley 3
Oliver Bonding 3
Oliver Tarvet 3

Sonay and Cam received nominations this month. Cam is the player with most nominations not in the PoS vote at this point. However, the player with most nominations, not qualified for PoS, will at least get a nomination into the wild card vote. Alicia, JPJ, Jake are all on 3 nominations and , like Cam, not qualified for PoS

Similarly, the player not qualified for PoS with the most titles will also get a nomination into the wild card vote. The current list for that looks like:

Name Titles
Alicia Dudeney 7
Ben Jones 7
Hamish Stewart 7
Daphne Lovdahl 6
Julian Cash 6
Lloyd Glasspool 6
Eric Lorimer 5
George Loffhagen 5
Max Basing 5
William Moxon 5

Alicia - again - Ben and Hamish are all not qualified for PoS and so would be in line for a place in the wild card vote.

The number of wildcards to be allocated through the vote is yet to be determined

The 38 votes this month is spot on average - 38.2 is the season average. The range is 34-45. So relatively tight compared to past years.

Give or take a few each month who maybe arent around to vote, feels like we have a core confirmed vote now and an overall tighter voting range than past years.

Hopefully we will see a few relative newbies come in as the season ends and the PoS vote occurs in January!

Sadly, most of the new members since mid August seem to be from non British profiles (China, India, USA, Slovenia) and most seem to be advertising some sort of product - so not genuine members, one or two since August but no real traction. I think Jonny D is the only new one who has posted, the others don't seem like genuine addresses/profiles.

Which is a shame, although Jonny D is very welcome, of course!

With Sonay taking the September PoM, here is the all time top PoM winners list:

7- Fran

6 - Sonay

5 - Emma

4 - Henry P, Dan, Cam

3 - Billy, Hannah

2 - Julian, Liv, Jay, Jack D., Mika, Katie B., Joe S, Katie S.

1 - Lloyd, Oli B, Jodie, Jan, Jake, Ella, Lily, Kyle, Henry S, Andy M., Emily A, Lissey, Ryan P, Harriet, Beth, Neal S, Hep, Jo K, Arthur F, Sam M-S, Heather

37 players have won a PoM title outright or shared since we started this thing at the beginning of 2020.

Hannah, Mika, Oli B, Henry S, Hep are the juniors that have won it.

No player from the wheelchair game or other para categories has ever won it.

Despite not winning a PoM title, Liam Broady and Alfie Hewett have both managed to get into the final 4 in a player of the season final.
