Sadly, Andy and Heath only won 2 games and lost their final against the top seeds. Not to be. Good end to the year for Andy here, on the whole, and look forward to seeing him in the Aussie events in January
Alfie and Gordon split the first and second sets 4-6 6-1 and onto an MTB.
De La Puente and Spaargaren beat Alfie and Gordon in the Wimbledon final and Alfie and Gordon didnt win the US either, their period of dominance being breached this year
This would be a great return to form if they can see the tie break through
Ah, what a disappointment- Alfie and Gordon lose the MTB 14-12 after being up 6-2.
They are still ending the year as the top doubles players but de la puente and Spaargaren just have the edge now and Fernandez and Oda won the US and werent here.
Oda seems now to be a world apart, watching his play this week, his skill level and speed sets him apart from the other players. Its hard to see anyone beating him right now, deserved winner.
Hard luck Alfie.
So, apart from a few small events (futures or lower tour level) the wheelchair season is over. Those who followed it, like me, hope you found it an interesting season. Lets pick it up in 2026!
Although the main tour has finished for the year, there are some smaller events. At Series 3 level, there are a few events back to back in Sri Lanka. They are all Series 3 level and, in the first of them, Andrew Penney beat compatriot Ben Bartram to reach the final in the Colombo Open.
There he plays Dutch player Martin ter Hofte, the top seed.

Andrew Penney lost his final in the first of the events in Colombo. He goes again this week, they are at the QF stage now and Andrew is seeded 2, with Ter Hofte at 1. Dahnon Ward joins Andrew this week in the field as a wild card.
Andrew Penney lost his Sri Lanka Open semi; seeded second both last week and this, hes made a final and a semi on this Sri Lanka tour. Theres one more event, next week, at the same level, not sure , yet, of the field for that.
