A big shout out from me to Alfie and Gordon, Paralympic champs, and Sonay for her fantastic second half of the season, but it is Jacks overall year and his US semi that takes my vote

Alfie and Gordon had a really impressive year, it was lovely to see Sonay hit her stride and go up a level, and Megan is such an exciting prospect.

But I voted for Jack, who exceeded my expectations in lots of ways: for how high he's risen in the rankings and for following up getting his first ATP250 title with an ATP500 and the semi-final of the US Open. It's always been obvious he's talented, but I was always a bit doubtful of just how talented or whether he could actualky deliver on that talent. After this year, no more doubts!

Sonay Kartal. Such an unexpected Top 100 breakthrough in a year which she looked like missing through injury.

As above, torn between Ms Kartal & Mr Draper: I've gone with Ms Kartal to balance the force.
