I managed to catch half the second set. It's no hot take to say Fonseca will be in the top 10 at some point and played well, but it felt that Jake wasn't a million miles away, and whilst Fonseca still has so much upside to come, he has not reached his potential either.
Good tournament, nice few wins and a very very solid start to the year. Good lad.
There is still no clothing sponsor from what I can tell, which is curious (but maybe that's just me).

Seems strange to see Jake only get 6 games off someone but perhaps that's a sign of how much higher our expectations of him are these days. Hope he can make it to Auckland in time.

Not sure Jake's been at the top of his game generally this week. But in isolation I certainly wouldn't be much concerned by a 6-3 6-3 loss to the 18 yo JCH 1 and Next Generation ATP Finals winner. Pretty underranked and, as Jon says, going to head much higher.
Good to get going for the year and hopefully he can build.
Fonseca was amazing at the Next Gen
Barring injuries, he'll be (minimum) top-40 by the end of the year and top-20 the year after and top-5 the year after
