Oh no

Jodie played pretty well but Baptiste defended some big hitting nicely and that extra shot was too often Jodie's undoing.

Jodie did a lot of good work from 1-5 down in the breaker after a poor start. But then at *5-5 Jodie hit a great serve and first forehand, Baptiste got slow floaters to land very deep, and Jodie clipped the tape with her second forehand and it travelled wide.

Amazing forehand to save match point but on the second at *6-7 she again gets a great serve into the corner, Baptiste gets onto it and steers her return deep into the backhand corner and Jodie nets.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, but come on Jodie. Positive vibes only, your level is cranking back up where it should be.

Totally agree. She should be positive after that. The parts I watched she played well.

Such a shame she didn't get the win, and also Tara & Marino had such a close match

Gutted for Jodie as I thought that was a chance for her. Good to see her making progress now and playing at a good level.

Although ultimately disappointing, there's so much promise in this .. she's on the right trajectory
