Oz beat the 16 year old Czech star Vendula Valdmannova (WC) JR18 3 & 2 in the second round.

Good challenge for Jodie - another semi would be good in what has been a decent month so far.

Pity they are in the same half of the draw - could have been a good final. Dominika won 1 & 1 today.

They play their doubles SF later today

When is the Aus Open Q's cut off?

Another great victory. Jodie is making a late charge for Aus Open qualifying. Her live rankings s now 249 but she would need to win the tournament to get into the top 220. She is down for qualifying in Dubai 100k next week which starts on Saturday so impossible to make it now although there are two special exempt places in the main draw if needed. Jodie has fond memories of the Habtoor Club in Dubai winning a 25k there in 2021.

16 December. But we'll find out next week whether she's in the main draw with a SR.

Well done, Jodie burrage. Good to see her overcoming her recent injuries.
Looking forward to seeing her get back to where she belongs next year..

excuse my ignorance but if she has applied and she hasn't used up her allowed number of tournaments, then is acceptance automatic?

Great win and very encouraging that she seems to be moving up a gear.

No real advantage from winning quickly today, as the other winners all wrapped it up swiftly too - Tatjana Maria won 7-5 6-4, Salkova won 6-1 6-1 and Alycia Parks won 6-1 6-1.

Takes Jodie to 9-2 in singles for the month.

Only dropped 6 games in three matches this week. She's also won a significant number of points (63) compared to her current (live) total of 278.

As for the SR - I don't believe she has used it for any event yet. She may well use it for the AO to avoid qualifying - if not she runs the risk of just missing the cut.
I've forgotten what her SR is - I'm thinking 85 (as at March 18 - first ranking after San Diego) ?

Great week for Maddy as she replaces 29 with 49.

She is getting to that place where you need to replace ITF points with WTA.
