The draw doesn't show wildcards but I assume the two pairs with the juniors have them.

A super win from Freya over the WTA 538 player

She was a break down in the first but managed to turn that around

And then was 5-1 up in the second before being pegged back to 5-4* on serve

But broke MZ in the next game to win 7-6(3) 6-4

Also, the first time that I've heard someone in Freya's corner, audibly encouraging

I think that really helped her, so well done to that woman too (one of our players? I didn't really get it from the voice, too faint, and not sure I'd have recognised it, but presumably it was)

It may have been Abigail Johnson who was out there last week - but as there are several other Brits here it is more likely to have been one of them.

Freya had a good win today against a higher ranked player.

Are we meant to guess who she is or is there some reason why she isn't being named?

I guess if you are that interested you could actually look it up yourself?

I was waiting for the qualifiers to be placed before posting the result and the next match. I've been out today so only looking in occasionally. But here you go with the result anyway (with current rankings)

FQR:- Freya Christie (GBR) WR664 [Q16 def ZHABRAILOVA, Milana Zhabrailova (***) WR538 [Q8] 7-6(3) 6-4
