SF: Luca Potenza (ITA) WR 743 (CH = 437 in October 2022) vs Ewen Lumsden WR 745
Just for the record, the Italian's surname means "power" or "strength" in English, so if he were a darts player, he might have styled himself Luke "The Power" Potenza.

I like that - now there is a thread idea - tennis players potential nicknames as if they were darts players!!

I wonder where that would leave another Italian, Manuel Plunger... As far as I'm aware, the surname has no connotations outside English.

Hmm, doesn't Plongeur mean 'washer upper' in french? perhaps Mannuel The Cleaner (I'm thinking of the assassin type of cleaner rather than a skivvy)

It does, though "dish-washer" (the human variety, not the machine), would be preferable in standard English (as opposed to banter), but I was thinking purely in terms of Italian...
