Cracking win for Amarni! She needs a few of these runs.

Her ranking currently has 12 single digit counters - so she definitely has a lot of potential to make a big jump up the rankings with a few runs.

Tereza hits the ball hard and when Marni tries to play constructively she loses control and makes unforced errors. She went 3-5 down but then just got everything back and left it to her opponent to win the point and pulled back to 6-5 up. She kept getting a mini break down in the tie break and then hauling her way back but never got a mini break up and finally lost the set 6-7(5).

yes, I thought the majority of that set was terribly close in terms of level - lots of hard-hitting and penetrating balls from both players - good tennis, I'd say
But Tereza did deserve it, considering she was the one who was never behind

Second set scoreline is a bit harsh - it was 30 points to 39 and the last three games were pretty close

Live-tennis.eu shows Marni as ranked 250 when these points go on - which is the ranking criteria to make the shortlist for consideration for the LTA PSP programme, although her CH of 235 was achieved within the relevant period. Let's hope she is successful.

The meeting is in this coming week.
