Maya is a US college player. Well I say is, there are doubts as to whether she'll ever play college tennis although she says she will and there were reports she was on campus attending classes, but looking at her activity I don't see how that has been possible. She'll probably do the same as Shnaider did and turn up for a semester before going pro.

 She turned down $140k for the righ to go to college so I hope she stay a bit more than a few months 

It even made Fox news, so you KNOW it's important 

Mind you, her changing national allegiance cause a major hoo-hah last year or whenever it was so the girl obviously likes to make waves wherever she goes

I watched most of that - and it was an excellent contest

I though Marni had lost it when she missed the first two MPs in the tiebreak (the first one not her fault, the second one being too cautious)

But Maya pushed her 'winner' wide on the next point and then Marni found an excellent first serve

Really pleased for her
