... and Koolhof & Mektic are out. Purcell & Thompson and Granollers & Zeballos will play for 2nd place in the group with Granollers & Zeballos having to win in straight sets.

And that is Koolhofs last tour match, although presumably he is playing for NL in the Davis Cup Finals (if they are taking part, cant remember). Certainly last match with Mektic...

Netherlands are in the Davis Cup Finals KOs. Play Spain in the QF.

Report & some very entertaining (though brief) highlights from the ATP.  smile

Hmm, ATP Tour on X, "No. 3 seeds Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten round off group play undefeated!"  As SC shows, Koolhof & Mektic are the #3 seeds, Harris & Henry are the #7 seeds, 4th highest seed in their group.

Anyway, away from such nonsense, nice highlights. They quite enjoying themselves!

I think we want to see Granollers and Zeballos beat Koolhof and Mektic later, that would guarantee Henry and Harri going through to the semis

Sadly, they didn't: Koolhof & Mektic won by 4-6 7-6(6) [10-8] - the first MTB played in this year's finals.

And Purcell & Thompson beat Granollers & Zeballos by 7-6(14) 6-3 in the final Group match, which means that they finish second.

In the Bob Bryan Group, Bops & Ebden (6) have just beaten Krawietz & Pütz (8) by 7-5 6-7(6) [10-7].

Krawietz & Pütz had already won the group and Bopanna & Ebden were already last, but nice consolation.

The other match will determine Harri & Henry's SF opponents.

Arevalo and Pavic win the final group game and will be Henry and Harris semis opponents. Presumably the evening match given they played this evening as well?

Krawietz and Putz won the other semi , 11-9 in an MTB. Going to be tough to beat whoever plays them tomorrow.

Taylor Fritz also beat Zverev in a final set tie break. Would be a surprise too many, yet Fritz has won their last 4 matches including today.

Well done to him.

Henry & Harri, perhaps unsurprisingly, lost their first match of the event:

SF:  (1) Marcelo Arévalo & Mate Pavic (ARG/CRO) CR 2 (1 & 1) defeated (7) Harri Heliövaara (FIN) & Henry Patten CR 27 (14+13) by 7-6(1) 7-6(4)  hmm

Shame it was not to be, but Henry and Harri have shown themselves to be a force this week and can look forward to challenging for big titles next year - I know they won Wimbledon this year, obviously, but consistently putting themselves in the frame at M1000 and Slams must be something they can genuinely strive for. Great week and enjoy the rest , lads!
