Rankings of players make Britain the favourites. However I think Fernandez is under-ranked and perhaps Katie is a little over-ranked.
Raducanu should beat whomever she goes up against.
Doubles could be key.
We have a good doubles pair but Canada looks as if they have a better one. So our best bet is to win both singles and the key is beating Leylah. Katie lost easily to her last year.
In an event where many nations are shorn of their biggest stars, Britain having their best two singles players available is a considerable asset.
Possessing players with the pedigree of Boulter the highest-ranked singles player left in the draw behind Poland's Iga Swiatek and Italy's Jasmine Paolini and former Grand Slam champion Raducanu is why captain Anne Keothavong believes her squad have the talent to go all the way.

I think it is very open and I don't exclude GB from the mix.

That was last year. Katie is looking a better more confident player right now compared to July last year ( as may be Leylah ). Different time and place, I can certainly see Katie vs Leylah going either way.

I agree - we score highly with having a strong second player in Emma. She could easily give us a 1 win start against anyone if she plays like she can, which clearly is an ask but who knows. it then comes down to 1 from 2. I wouldnt count Heather and Liv out in this format against other countries pairs.
I'd love Emma to have had a few more matches behind her. Yes to the strong looking #2 and she has come through that important first match well. My pessimistic side thinks she could still have a shocker in her. But she may well not!
As someone who doesn't give two hoots about BJK Cup, I came here with a cup of tea just to have a quick look at the results - and there's no post of Emma's actual result ! I gather she won? Score? Opponent?
