I see Spain men and Nadal are playing now as well - presumably Spain men are on the main court...does that mean they are playing the womens semi on a "lesser" court?

I believe there are two separate venues in Malaga, so they're not playing at the same venue. But the women are playing at the venue with the smaller spectator capacity.

Im not so sure - the BJK Cup page says
The relocation was required by the events host partner, Junta de Andalucía, and supported by the City and Diputacion of Málaga. The Billie Jean King Cup, formerly the Fed Cup, will join with the Davis Cup to create a unique, world-class fortnight of international team tennis at Malagas renowned Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena.
and wiki gives both at the same Carpena venue as well. I could be wrong, however.
ETA indeed Reuters say same venue
The last couple of days of the BJK Cup would overlap with the men's Davis Cup Finals in the same venue next week, when Spanish great Rafael Nadal is expected to play his last tournament before retiring.

Slovakia break *2-1... it feels like it's just been the odd point here and there over a number of games. Shows how much I follow doubles as I had no idea deuce was now a game point to either team.
Not unexpected. We dont really have a top womens doubles team in the womens game at this point in time. Not disrespecting Liv and Hev, but looks like we may need one to lift this trophy in the future. Sitting on the bench supporting is one young lady amongst a bunch of very promising youngsters, who is already starting to show her metal in the doubles game. Mimi. Feel for Katie though.she must be gutted. However brilliant performance by Emma. Some positives and semi finalists, whatever the outcome. Good work.
They are far superior. Bigger serves, bigger returns and making less errors.
PS the stadium is half empty - not a good look for the global, showpiece of team tennis.
Nadal is currently on court, playing his last ever tournament in his home country. I don't think many people would choose going to watch a women's doubles match over that in the flesh!
