One half of a potential 50% British semi now in place:

QF:  (3) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 64 (37+27) defeated Matwé Middelkoop & Jean-Julien Rojer (NED/NED) CR 122 (77+45) by 1 & 4   smile

QF:  Sander Arends (NED) & Luke Johnson CR 131 (63+68) defeated (2) Hugo Nys & Jan Zielinski (MON/POL) CR 51 (25+26) by 6-3 3-6 [10-8]  biggrin

*****

And it comes to pass:

SF:  (3) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 64 (37+27) vs Sander Arends (NED) & Luke Johnson CR 131 (63+68)

Like that!

Well done Cam, all in 3 sets. As mentioned, Moutet is familiar to Cam. A win would be great!

Cam 's been lucky, escaped Dimitrov and Rublev.

He needs all the luck he can get! He has had so few wins this year, this kind of build up of confidence will do him good.

With Skander in the Belgrade final, a part of me would love to see Luke match him here. TBH - in reality- dont care who wins the semi.

Between Luke and Lloyd/Julian what was the head scratch?

What I was thinking was that ... but Sander is not in the Belgrade final, he is here with Luke.

But of course you said "Skander" and I see Skander Mansouri, past regular partner of Luke, is in the Belgrade final. So that was no doubt it, well unless it's just you'd like a week of joint Skander and Sander success

Maybe Luke sees Sander as a surrogate for Skander, just cant let go! Sad really on one level, got to move on, mate!

Luke and Julian took the first set 7-6 over Luke and SAnder...But Luke and Sander have a break in the second and are at 4-3. Could be heading towards a MTB finish.

I would love to see how many ATP doubles matches end at a MTB in each level of the game - I bet it is a pretty high percentage in the ATP tour 250 and above level. Maybe not half of matches, but close?

Well done Luke, pleased for him (as per!). I think I am right, as well as a new CH ranking, this will be his first ever ATP Tour final, a great milestone!

Good stuff.

Good look to Luke and Jamie in the respective finals this weekend
