There are a lot of GB players looking to pick up their first or second counter.
There really is a need to put some domestic 15ks on, even if it is only as warm up for a 25k/35k

 Completely agree

You'd think it was like drinking salt water for the LTA

I'd prefer to see some 15k's not close to other domestic tournaments, to keep the peskies out !
China is running them pretty much every week and they now have 70 ranked players, 27 of whom are outside the top 1000.

Yes, and/or in god-forsaken farflung parts of the country that completely put off the peskies from coming biggrin

So far, Tegan has won the first set against Emma Wilson 6-0 #shock!

'Mini Min' has won the first set 6-4 over the q2 seed #goMin!

Hollie has won the first set against Brooke 6-3 #that backhand is still a problem Hollie

And Sireena has won the first set against Dani P 6-4

A lot of these matches could well turn around in the second set though

As expected, three of the matches look as though they're flipping round in the second set

But the one that hasn't is Tegan's !

Tegan (2008) beats Emma Wilson 6-0 6-3

That's a superb result from Tegan, and she did it in style, using that whippy forehand of hers to do some real damage

And after 15 year-old Tegan, it's 17 year-old Daniela Piani who manages to get through to the main draw (just), winning the MTB against Sirena Waas

Isn't Emma virtually guaranteed to get a LL spot as she has a WR.

You're asking the wrong person about the rules biggrin

But she certainly didn't look as though she was laid back about losing coz she was safe in the knowledge of her LL - she looked mighty p*ssed off, to be honest biggrin

And 16 year-old Brooke beats 15 year-old Hollie, by 10-8 in the MTB (even though Hollie was 8-4 up in that MTB :( )

Yes, Lucky Losers are randomly drawn from the players with a WTA ranking. If more are needed then they are drawn from those with an ITF ranking. Emma is the only one eligible.

Millie Rajecki may (probably?) have a WC. She seems to have missed the withdrawal deadline having promptly withdrawn from the W15 the system placed her in. She is an advance entry in doubles and, given how much Loughborough post about her, I'm guessing she is based there now.

For Eliz to make the main draw without a WC there needs to have been another withdrawal not yet showing on the published list, or they could give her direct entry by not giving that WC to someone else [BTW she was playing for Loughborough in the BUCs Super-Weekend last weekend].

I'd say the WCs are Millie, Eliz, Esther and Ruby

Pleased to see Indi play. Hopefully she's fully recovered from whatever her injury problems were that prevented her from serving overhead in the last couple of matches at the end of her college career.

I wonder where Sophie DL is? Injured? Netball? Can't get time off work? Given up tennis? She doesn't seem to have played since the National League Finals at the beginning of September when she double bageled Gabi Taylor.

Top marks to Lambda for 4/4 on the wildcards
