Week 44 - ATP Challenger 125 - Slovak Open - Bratislava, Slovakia (indoor hard)

They are still playing. Anyone know if Jakes opponent is wearing 1 trainer and 1 black brogue for a bet?

They started playing again shortly after I posted. Must have been an issue with a trainer as I'm sure he had 2 white ones earlier!

From conversations with the umpire, I think a shoe lace was the problem. It took several minutes to get sorted.

We are now into a third set.

JF is now a break down at 4-3 in the decider. I feel there is every chance that there will be another break of serve, no idea in which direction though.

I was correct when I said there would be another break. JF served at 3-5,  did a couple of DFs then miissed a fh.  It was still a decent match to watch.

Thats a shame, oh well - had to not go his way at some point.

Shame for Jake, but Prizmic had beaten the 5th seed and Wawrinka in previous rounds and is only 19, so he seems to be a rising young star in form.

And Jake has done enough here to stay in the top 100 for yet another week. Given many players make it and then drop out pretty quickly, that's a decent achievement.

Prizmic is the real deal. Reached No. 155 aged 18 before struggling with injuries / form this year. But I see him settling into the Top 100 in 2025. As I hope Jake can do too.

Thanks for the extra info. Definitely a tougher match than the ranking suggested. (And I shall now keep an eye out for Prizmic.)

Also, well done to Julian & Nicolás.
