That is a shocker , especially when she got some experience for 10k's tournies!! i suppose the occasion of being in a GS regardless of whether its senior or junior got to her, a shame really, i think she would have got far in the tournament had she won that qualie Ah...well she's only young, and next time she won't choke! (hopefully!)
From reading what Naomi said on her defeat here, after her sensational qualies win in Birmingham, it sounds extremely promising. She said that she'd learnt from the experience in Paris and against Poutchek, when she missed 3 match points in the 3rd set breaker, she was able to use that experience to keep her nerve. It's great to see a young British player having that sort of attitude and shows that she has an excellent mental approach to tennis. Many players would have tightened up and choked in the Poutchek 3rd set tiebreak especially if they'd missed mps in their last match.
Re Naomi Broady: She's still only 16 and she's currently unranked. In April she was given a wc to a futures in Bath and lost to Olivia Scarfi in a 3rd set tiebreak. She's never won a main draw match, her best senior achievement came in Sheffield this year when she qualified before losing in rd1. Junior-wise, she's ranked 613, she won the G5 junior event in Sutton in April.
