Are ranking points available for this tournament? Thanks

For singles, yes, the number of points varies dependent on the opponent's ranking.

50 points so far for Katie for beating 2 players ranked 51 to 100 ( less than her current lowest non mandatory counter of 60 ).

As Jon says, now though the nice prospect of playing Paolini or Swiatek in the QF and whipping either of them would net a further 80 points.

Olivia gets her chance to play mixed doubles with Charles Broom. Immediate break but immediately broken so 1-1.

 Glad Katie is rested.

I am glad they are playing Olivia,  after all she is our best doubles specialist, in fact I was angry they didn't play her earlier.

Remember though SC, we are through so this rubber is meaningless in terms of the match or positions

All other things being equal, Billy taking that first set vs Etcheverry in our first tie has made the difference between going through as group winners and being out.

Report on the tie from the ATP site.  Some nice quotes from Katie.

Gotta say this event is kinda the perfect tune-up for Katie - one tricky opponent she should beat, another she should beat but came with other pressures, and now Iga. She can just go out and swing, and see where she is vs the top 5-10.

I've just seen that Billy lost 6-7(3) 5-7
I'm impressed it was that close!

Might be the perfect tune up for Billy too... these are some impressive score lines against quality opponents this week

Hes played really well.

Katie and Iga are in the first set tiebreak after an epic third game in which Katie missed 4 break points! She eventually got a break back.
