I make that 18 wins and 11 defeats so far in the twelve tournaments they have played together, all at WTA250 above.

Over 60 percent win ratio, not bad

Ok Harriet has said she's playing in Japan next week so the issue can't be anywhere near as serious as it sounded. Which is a relief!

That is a relief. Hopefully she will not only be fit for Japan next week but also for the BJK cup.

For me it's also the calibre of players they've beaten:

Kenin/Mattek-Sands

Dabrowski/Routliffe

Muhammad/Pegula

Shibahara/Sutjiadi

Kichenok/Ostapenko

Stefani/Schuurs

Have always rated Mihalikova since she won the junior Australia beating Katie Swan, but she was unable to transform that form singles. Olivia deserves to have a good partner for someone of her ability.

It is a decent little list, isnt it - good for them and hope the upward tick continues

Errani and Paolini lost in an MTB, and Mertens/Zhang were dumped out 1 & 0 so only three seeded teams left.
Still a very tough match - against the current #1 player. Scheduled for the third of three doubes matches starting at 5:30 am our time, so should be on sometime after 8:30

QF:- Tereza Mihalivikova (SVK) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR95 (46+41) v Ekaterina Alexandrova (***) / Katerina Siniakova (CZE) CR83 (82+1)

No one mentions it - where is Peng? Shame on the tennis community

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this.

To be honest it had gone off my radar and I was looking at the massive list of Chinese events at the moment and coming up - and its never been mentioned once by any player, the WTA, Ive not seen comment in the press - or on here etc.

Its been 3 years and shes not been seen.

She also won the girls doubles in 2016

Very competitive though, lots of close games and they did achieve 5 breaks of serve.

Heather's CH is 39 - Liv is about to overtake that.

The next match will be the big one. They face the winners of Errani/ Paolini [3] v Alexandrova/Siniakova who aren't playing today.

With Aldila Sutjiadi + reaching the Wuhan SF, Liv is now showing as live ranked 39, 'just' matching Heather's doubles CH 39. And it is showing that she would drop back to live 40 if Pegula + beat Sutjiadi + in the SF.

Whatever, that will still leave Liv taking out her current CH 41 on Monday.

She would have been looking at at least WR 34 if they had won that QF today. Though as ST was saying, she will still have a decent window well into next year to keep pushing up her ranking.

Siniakova plus whoever is very tough to beat (although Liv managed to do so on grass earlier in the year). Alexandrova isn't a doubles player, but obviously has huge firepower off the ground, and they managed to beat Errani and Paolini.
