Since winning Nottingham, Katie has struggled for results. I haven't seen enough of her play (outside THAT Wimbledon match) but would be interested in any comments for those that have.

interesting that she has gone in for the WTA 500s (via qualifying) for Ningbo and Tokyo. Maybe a couple of 250s at the end of the season might have been a better option? Unless of course she had Top 30 restrictions, unclear when those kick in when you hit top 30 and how long they last.

The WTA1000 would be mandatory for Katie now so no choice there.

I may well be wrong, but I thought the top 30 restrictions only applied while she was in the top 30 so she has less restrictions now that she has slipped a bit. Certainly the 1000's and 500's effectively rule out any 250's in the same week.

Harriet and partner were indeed replaced by alternates.

I was wondering if they would actually play - they were still showing in the draw when I checked this morning. So it is probably an injury rather than sickness.

Oh goodness. Presumably that's her season done then?

What a shame. Nasty injury that.

From what i found on the web, that injury could be career ending if it is bad but if no permanent damage is done then rehabilitation is possible with exercises. Let's hope it is just a minor injury.

It looks as if Anne will need to draft in a new player for the BJK cup squad.

A shame for Harriet who is usually one of the fitter GB girls.

How awful for Harriet. And feels like it has been a particular bad year for GB injuries.

Apropos of nothing, Magda Frech is now No. 25 on the live rankings having beaten Navarro today. I've watched her play, and she's very steady, but Top 25??

That's the way to do it

Olivia is now showing as live ranked 38. Her 215 points so far here will be her 6th points score over 200 this year ( 5th in 4 months ). Can she and Tereza go on here to make it a real biggie?

Heather's CH is 39 - Liv is about to overtake that.

The next match will be the big one. They face the winners of Errani/ Paolini [3] v Alexandrova/Siniakova who aren't playing today.

The other good news is that she has no points to drop until next March so plenty of opportunity to continue to push up the rankings in Australia
