R1: Tereza Mihalivikova (SVK) / Olivia Nicholls (GBR) CR95 (47+48) v Sofia Kenin (USA) / Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA) CR47 (27+20) [8] Top seeds in their section are Errani and Paolini [4]
Sofia and Bethanie lost in the SF in Beijing today, so going to be another tough match
R1:- Harriet Dart (GBR) / Ashlyn Kruegar (USA) CR125 (61+64) v Elise Mertens (BEL) / Shuai Zhang (CHN) CR36 (6+30) [6] I expect Harriet to pull out of this one after her retirement in singles qualifying.

A pretty miserable Asian swing so far for the Brits. Retirements/injuries for Draper and Raducanu, Dart retirement, Norrie missing, and Evans struggling to pick up points. Let's see if Katie can get a run together.
Unfortunately bar the two titles and the 4th round at Miami, she hasn't had a great season.
The San Diego title is almost 33% of her points for the entire year, she made 3 2nd rounds at slams but in 2 or 3 of those she was seeded. Loses to Dart, Bouzas, Kalinina (back from injury), Montgomery, Bogdan, retired Giorgi.
Since winning Nottingham, Katie has struggled for results. I haven't seen enough of her play (outside THAT Wimbledon match) but would be interested in any comments for those that have.
