I know this basic entry level knowledge stuff. But in a masters event, does someone who qualifies get the 20 qualies points and 10 first round losers points, or just the qualies points?
Im asking as, if Billy qualified and got 20 plus 10 = 30 points, his live ranking would be back top 100. My guess is they should do, but Im sure that is naive as the ATP like to favour the big names and they wouldnt give the free 10 points to a lowly qualifier.
Yes a qualifier does retain qualifying points and round points. So he would have got 30.

I'm really pleased for Dan! Possible opponents in the first round are Taro Daniel, Sonego, Mannarino, Seybold-Wild, Davidovick Fokina, Moutet, Safiullin, Kovacevic, Kotov, Giron, or another qualifier. I make the observation that both of Dan's qualifying rounds were three setters, he is still not finding things easy. Is he working with a coach at the moment? I haven't heard Sebastian Prieto's name mentioned in a while.
Do my ffellow board members have an opinion as to whether TennisTV gives better coverage of men's tennis than Eurosport? Specifically, does one channel show more matches on secondary courts?
Thanks
Thanks SteveMcqueen - Evo and Prieto parted ways a few months ago, back in May - not sure who he is with now, tbh

As said, Billy would have got 30 ranking points if he qualified and then played his MD R1 match.
He does though have a total of 55 points to drop for the post Shanghai Masters 14/10 rankings so would have also probably needed at least a couple of MD wins to have a top 100 chance.
Hopefully he might yet bag a LL spot.

Also Billy gets LL spot against Bellucci a qualifier. Winner to play Zverev
Well done, Billy !
Yay
Back with a theoretical.chance of making the top 100. But since that looks to involve winning at least 2 MD rounds with Zverev waiting in R2 that looks a toughie!
Going with it though, his updated 14/10 points allowing for 55 points off from 2 tournaments last year, plus 60 points from LL+R3, plus 12 points from his then best non counter would take him to:
552 - 55 + 60 + 12 = 569 points.
It would be 549 points if he won his R1 but lost in R2 which it already appears would leave him still short of the top 100.
He is though entered into the ATP 125 Hangzhou Challenger next week, which will also count to the 14/10 rankings.
