Just watching Jake playing Gigante live. Im absolutely stunned by his level - incredible, almost faultless tennis. After Gigante scraped the first game, Jake has won 10 games in a row and counting and the Italian, whilst inconsistent, has hit a few absolute blinding passes and has a decent serve too. I genuinely feel sorry for the Italian, currently ranked around 150 - hes being made to look like an amateur. This has to be top 50 tennis from Jake, at the very least. What a fantastic prospect.
Ooh we have a deuce against Jakes serve. Oh panic over 5-0 to Jake. I echo your thoughts Kori an, havent seen anything like this for a while in the mens game.

Gigante wasnt injured at all. Towards the end, he was starting to get frustrated with himself (not unsurprisingly) and perhaps pulling the trigger earlier than he should have, and trying to get too much from his second serve and DF-ing too much - but that was a consequence of the match situation and the fact that the only way he was picking up points was with blinding passes and taking huge risks. Fearnley looked so calm and composed - it must be so easy to let up and your mind to wander when winning so easily, but not a bit of it. Theres probably even more to develop on his serve, and possibly even more power on his ground strokes, plus theres surely tons to do on tactics and fitness to keep on rising up the rankings - but honestly, the base level here is incredibly high. I was just blown away, frankly.
