I watched the end of the first set

The Jorge girls had a SP at 40-40 - and one of them hit the ball at Jodie, who was at the net, who practically fell over, and sort of 'volleyed' it off her knees, the ball hit more wood than strings, the ball went over the net, and died - and Anastasia was just doubled up, laughing

That to me if the joy for singles players in playing doubles - it really doesn't matter that much - and you can remember the fun of tennis

Well done, Jodie and Anastasia!

And good to see Jodie get some court time, even if it's in doubles, as that will hopefully help her with her singles as she makes her comeback.

Just to note that 17 year-old Alina Korneeva won the title here - Alina was world #1 in juniors, back in May 2023, but quit juniors and moved over very successfully to adults at age 16, but has been out for 6 months with injury

This is a big deal for her, on her road to recovery
