Thanks for that, Lambda.  I'd noticed that his name wasn't in the acceptance list, but didn't think to check the withdrawals, so I was surprised to see his name at the top of the qualies draw.  I never know what's what with SEs etc, so it's good to have input from those who are better acquainted with the system.  I assume that his success this week may have helped him change his mind.
