Week 38 - ATP Challenger 75 - Columbus, OH, USA (indoor hard)

5-4* on serve with a break each.

There are moments when I am thinking - that's the Kyle we know. But then he seems to lose focus and play a couple of loose points.

This match is there for the taking if he can keep it together.

First set Kyle, Shelbayh had a physio on before Kyle broke him for the set. Not sure what it was for.

Mmm Kyle holds his serve in the second set to love, finishing with an ace.

Thought I'd jinxed him there at 0-30 but a tough hold for 3-0*

A much stronger 2nd set and some real quality from Kyle. Is there really light at the end of his long tunnel ? Let's hope so.

Brilliant. One of my favourite wins this year. I dont think Kyle realises how many people are backing him.

Not as big a step-up in the semi as it could have been:

SF:  (ALT) Naoki Nakagawa (JPN) WR 429 vs (Q) Kyle Edmund WR 417

Nakagawa beat Chris Eubanks (1) in three.  Maybe Kyle should be asking JPJ for a few tips.  Kyle provisionally up to 364 in the live rankings.
