Yes, why run himself ragged when he goes so deep in every tournament at this level!

Also, I got the impression he has/had a slight injury niggle (wrist?) which was why, after he lost in the first round of US Open qualifying to Paul Jubb, he didn't play again for a few weeks. So I think (hope) he's being very sensible and cautious and avoiding aggravating that by not overplaying simply to "chase points" when he's getting such good results in the weeks he does play.

Non Brit but a great picture from the livestream going around on Twitter of American Ryan Seggerman just making his qualifying match having played a doubles final the previous evening in Poland. Walking onto court with his suitcase. Sounds like he had to leave a hotel in poland at 0430 fly to Berlin then Marseille and get a train before being picked up by the event.
