Week 38 - WTA250 - Seoul, Korea Hard

I heard that Emma Raducanu was offered a WC but just got in the MD without it, while Katie Boulter was in the MD but withdrew.

There are five Koreans in qualifying, the highest ranked being 445 - so I presume they are all wildcards, although there shpold only be four.

Iga Swiatek has just withdrawn from the main draw, so perhaps one is an alt ?

R1: RADUCANU, Emma (GBR) 72 (CH=10 2022) v STEARNS, Peyton (USA) 49 (CH=43 2023)
They met in Washington in 2024 with Emma winning 6(6) & 2

The winner of Emma's match plays the winner of a qualifier and 8th seed Yue Yuan WR38 in R2 and then potentially top seed Daria Kasatkina WR13 in the QF.

There are 6 Koreans in qualifying, Park and Ku are direct entries, the other 4 are WCs. There have been so many withdrawals from here that Ku got in being the last player on the qualifying acceptance list.

Thanks Lambda - I have been looking for the draw without success, although I see that the WTA has now put them up on their website.
