QF:  Max Basing WR 908 vs Sidharth Rawat (IND) WR 927 (CH = 430 in January 2019)

Courtesy of a retirement, Max is into the semis. Jay however lost a final set tie break.

Max continues to make progress and build on his good form earlier this month.

A retirement at 5-0 is not a truly great win
But I am SO enjoying Max's little run at the moment - I was worried when he disappeared off the scene that he was gone for good, down the academia or business route (he's been at Stanford and I believe his dad is a pretty successful finance guy)
But great to see him giving it a go, such nice relaxed arm tennis

What would be really interesting is a match-up of Max and Colson, (only possible as a final) to see more clearly where Max's level is this week.

Max keeps on going as he beats Wenger in 3 sets! Into another final, first at M25 level?

Didn't see that one coming!  And Miriam has her wish:

Final:  (8) Tibo Colson (BEL) WR 535 vs Max Basing WR 908

Does anyone know why Max Basing didn't play for 2 years before coming back a few weeks ago? I saw he was doing quite well as a 19 year old on the ITF Tour before stopping for 24 months. Was it injury or US college or both?

He is at college at Stanford and has played for them over this period.

Looks like he is a senior and should return to college soon.

Thanks Paulisi - yet another exciting college prospect to look forward to. That route really seems to work well for our GB men in particular.

He was also injured for a while and had been playing far below his previous level since returning but seems to be getting back to it
