An honourable mention for Jake in the report by the Beeb deservedly devoted to Sonay's maiden WTA 250 win in Monastir.

C'mon down, Scottie - we should raise a glass !

Just how far can Jake get?

He has exceeded all That I hoped.

I remember the 17 year old boy playing an ATP tournament and losing narrowly either circa 2018 or 2019 in Glasgow.

Next tip is Charlie Robertson who I saw in Glasgow in Feb and although slightly build has more potential than Aidan Mchugh who Andy had taken under his wing at one point.

It was 2018 when he played Daniel Brands.

Yes. And it's just curious that, say, I remember many people saying Jake and Connor Thomson were on the same level, much of a muchness, and you and I had a marked preference for Jake (although that wasn't the same as saying he was a shoo-in to make the top-100 - just wow )

Charlie's build does worry me, it's true - I know there are always exceptions to the rule - but it's not a plus. But, yes, more to get excited about than Aidan, I agree

Fantastic week for Jake, who keeps up the great Scottish tradition of laying waste to a string of French players - he has 8 wins in a row v France now, a feat also achieved by Cam (Lyon 2021-US Open 2022) and by Andy multiple times (e.g. 26 in a row in 2016-17)!

Even Andy never managed to beat five Frenchmen in the same week though - he went close in Aix-en-Provence last year but was prevented from completing the quintuple by meeting an American in the final. The fact that Tommy Paul shares his surname with a chain of French bakeries/cafés doesn't count! wink

That was quiet the turn around.

Great to see Jake still going up and up.

Great interview with Jake just dropped, discussing some of his matches here, that Wimbledon match and college tennis.

That was a really good listen - thanks for linking! Even more excited (if possible!) about how much success he can have in the future. smile

A really interesting listen. Jake obviously has a high tennis IQ and hope he can continue to climb the rankings
