Great result from Jake! I guess he has to keep up his record of (I think) winning or being the runner up in every challenger event he's played.

Semi final in Chicago in July! Plus he played two qualifying events in 2022 and 2018 where he lost 1st round.

Thanks for the correction! But I did know he's had a pretty stellar run in the events he's entered this year.

Indeed a great record since departing college. You do half wonder if he can keep it up if he can make the Australian main draw.

Jake's progress is astounding.
He looks like he is going to get into top 100.
I thought last year when I saw him that top 200 but he has exceeded that.

Jake really making light work of the Challenger tour, top 100 before the end of the year going by this rate.

Also nice to see him take a page out of Andy play book this week, slaying the french players one by one. Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Definitely Murrayesque! It's been fantastic watching Jake take out French players one by one in the lion's den this week, he was exceptionally good against Mayot today in the bits of the match I saw.

He has now won 7 in a row against French players. His only loss to a French player was against Vacherot at the Fairfield Challenger, the only Challenger main draw match he had played before June. He is now 17-1 in Challenger singles matches this year!

The DJ played 'One More Time' by Daft Punk at the end of the match, which was a bit surprising under the circumstances, since One More Frenchman Slayed in the final tomorrow would be the perfect end to a brilliant week!

Jake is in France for two more weeks after this - once they are done, and the ATP tour comes back for the indoor events, Id love to see Jake try and play qualies at a couple of weeks for the tour and try and get into a main draw. With his ranking, hes got no issue getting in qualies and could really do some damage at main tour level.

Thanks Steven. That 17-1 W/L record in challengers is quite something.

The French have basically zero understanding of English song lyrics- I attended a school dance/gym show where the young teenage girls were dancing to a SPECTACULARLY, HUGELY inappropriate song (I can't begin to tell you how untterly graphic the words were - and unfounately very well-articulated too - no misunderstanding).

I went and explained to the dance teacher after as I thought someone had to - I didn't even know all the words I needed and my gutter French is pretty good !

She was SO mortified ..... (and she'd bought this track from a special French dance site, aimed at schools and clubs etc - it defies belief)

Anwyay, just an aside.....

I've been out all day so it's great to come home and see Jake breezed through his semi-final. He really does seem incredibly comfortable at this level, even if it apparently sometimes takes him a set to figure out his opponent, before adjusting his game to win the next two sets. (Which is a pretty handy skill to have, if that is what's going on!)

There is just something about Jake that says he will be top 100. How much higher after that time will tell. But what a rise up the rankings. Can only see positive things ahead for him.

Err yes agreed. But I don't think that's now quite Nostradamus
