Really hope that Lissey can turn things around soon and join them too - a bit bonkers that she is now GB no. 13 in doubles.
She has a career high of 280 or so, achieved last year. She had a marked improvement in her singles results a few years back - but it felt like she'd get a great win and then stagnate at the next step / next tournaments. Hopefully she can kick on in doubles, as she does have a nice game.
I do wonder how players like her have continued for so long though, her career prize money is $310,000 - she's now 28. That's a $31,000 average annual salary over the past decade. Must be hard to travel and get all the training on that kind of budget. Do a lot of these players do coaching gigs? Play in money leagues in Germany/France? Get any social media sponsors? Curious if anyone has any insight.
